Hey everyone.. It's SUMMER, and we don't have to say how HOT it is!! We are all running around finding fans, Air conditioners, ice creams and cold drinks!! Now, we are here with 6 awesome home made, nutritious, fresh, natural and easy recipes to enjoy at your homes and relax!! Enjoy this Summer with these awesome, lip smacking drinks!!! 😁
Ingredients :
Musk melon - 1 cup cubed
Honey to taste
Chia or basil seeds- 1 tbsp
Method :
Wash chia seeds well to remove stones and dust. Add hot water to it and soak aside.
Grind muskmelon and honey together in food processor. Meanwhile the chia seed would have softened. Add it to the mixture and serve cool.
Note :
I avoid ice cubes mostly as it is not good for health. If you prefer to serve cool just refrigerate for 10 or 15 min. Some say chia seeds should not be given to kids below 3 and very old people as it may choke.
2. AAM KA PANNA :
A yummy, tangy drink with seasonal mango. Good for digestion.
Ingredients :
Raw mango - 1 (used grape variety)
Jaggery - 1 cup
Cardamon - 2 nos
Jeera - 1/2tsp
Black salt to taste
Rock salt to taste
Method :
1. Pressure cook mango in sim for 8 - 10 whistles, scoop out the flesh and save.
2. Add jaggery and cardamom to some water in a pan. Melt and filter it.
3. To the food processor, add mango flesh, jeera, jaggery syrup and rock salt. Grind it to paste.
4. Cool down the mixture and save it in a sterlised glass jar. Refrigerate and use it when required.
5. Roll rim of the glass over salt and fill 1/4 glass with mango mix and remaining with water. Add pinch of black salt and serve chill.
3. ROSY POMEGRANATE :
A Tempting pink drink that is full of health. It's made up of none other than the pomegranate. Serve it with the flavor of rose syrup that helps in cooling your stomach.
Ingredients :
Rose syrup - 2 tbsp
Pomegranate - 1 no
Sugar or honey to taste
Method :
Grind pomegranate with sugar or honey. Filter it.
Add 1/2 tbsp of rose syrup to the glass and fill it with pomegranate juice. Your yummy rose flavored pomegranate drink is ready to relish.
I have added krishna sweets rose sharbat syrup. You can add rose milk syrup available in local stores.
4. MASALA CHAAS / MASALA BUTTERMILK :
When we all are ready to hunt any variety of coolants available, we can never forget our traditional coolant : less in fat-masala buttermilk..!! Can we??!! Here is the recipe for you.
Ingredients :
Curd - 1 cup
Water - 4 cups
Hing - 2 pinches
Grated ginger - 1 tbsp
Green chili - 1 no.
Curry leaves - 2 strings
Coriander leaves - 1 handful
Jeera - 1 tsp
Rock salt as required
Method :
Grind all the ingredients together in a food processor except water. At last, add the water to the mix and serve. If you don't like the chunks of leaves and other ingredients, filter it and serve.
5. MANGO LASSI :
Yummy mangoes are seasonal during summer. Mango lassi is a must try!!!Here is the recipe of Creamy, sweet mango drink.
Ingredients :
Mango - 1 med sized cubed
Curd - 1/2 cup
Cardamom - 2 nos
Sugar to taste
Method :
Grind all ingredients together. If its too thick, add water or milk to thin it. Serve cool.
6. CUCUMBER MINT COOLERS :
A very refreshing drink for summer along with lemon. It also flushes out toxins from liver when you drink in empty stomach.
Ingredients :
Cucumber - 1/2 roughly cut
Mint leaves - 1 handful
Lemon - 2
Water - 2 glasses
Sugar and salt to taste
Method :
1. Grind cucumber and mint leaves to paste .
2. To the water, squeeze lemon and add sugar and pinch of salt.mix it well.
3. Fill 1/4 glass with cucumber paste and 3/4 with lemon juice. Serve chill.
