WHEAT BITES - A YUMMY & EASY TEA TIME SNACK!!

This recipe comes from my grandmother’s diary. 😀 And it's my favorite tea time snack.  My grandmother usually prepares this with maida but I have replaced it with wheat in order to make it as healthy as possible. 😝  I suggest all egg lovers to try this recipe because this gives you full flavor of egg when you start eating.. yum.. yum.. 😋😋 This is very simple to make and the recipe follows...

CUISINE : Indian

SERVES : 2

TIME : 30 mins

INGREDIENTS :
  • Wheat                                 - 1 cup
  • Hing / asafeotida                - 1 small spoon
  • Egg                                     - 1
  • Salt                                     - as needed
  • Oil                                      - for frying

METHOD  :
  1. Take wheat, salt, hing and egg in a bowl. knead it and make a dough.
  2. Apply oil over the dough, cover and keep it aside for minimum 15 minutes.
  3. Divide it into small balls, same as we do for chapathi / roti.
  4. Start rolling it with a roller pin by greasing oil and wheat powder, just as we make chapathi or roti.
  5. Cut it into small rectangular pieces.
  6. Heat oil in pan and deep fry the pieces.
  7. When it turns golden brown, remove it and transfer to a plate with kitchen tissue to absorb excess oil.
  8. Crispy tea time wheat bites are ready for evening snacks.
