Trick to solve the multiples of 9.
Hi Friends,
After giving a series of posts based on the real life applications of Maths, here i am with some cool Math tricks!! So... today i am going to share a simple trick for the multiplication of 9.
METHOD :
Step 1 : Add '0' to the end of the first number and let us consider it as the third number. Number of '0' to be added should be equal to number of '9' in the second number.
Step 2 : Subtract the first number from the third number.
Tadaaaaaaaa... you have got the answer buddy!!!! 😎
Not clear??!! Worry not!!! That's why am here with a few examples!!
Now i am going to solve few examples for your references and understanding.
1. 64,589 * 9
First Number : 64589
Second Number : 9
No of 9's in Second Number : 1
Step 1 : 645890 (Add 0 to the first number. Number of 0 added should be equal to the number of 9 in the second number)
Now the third number is 645890
Step 2 : 645890 - 64589 = 581301 (Subtract first number from the third number)
Let's try few more examples.
2. 96789 * 99
First Number : 96789
Second Number : 99
No of 9's in Second Number : 2
Step 1 : 9678900
Now the third number is 9678900
Step 2 : 9678900 - 96789 = 95825111
3. 154896 * 999
First Number : 154896
Second Number : 999
No of 9's in Second Number : 3
Step 1 : 154896000
Now the third number is 154896000
Step 2 : 154896000 - 154896 = 154741104
This can be applied to all digits which are multiplied by 9,99,999,9999.
This trick is very simple which you can use to solve in matter of seconds, in any competitive exams.
Hope this was helpful. 😀
