SAGO KHICHDI

Sago khichdi is my favorite food that I like to munch on, often. It's full of energy and flavors. Yummy yummy sago, also curbs hunger since it's a very satisfying, complete meal. Now, here is our Sago khichdi recipe!! 😀




CUISINE : INDIAN
 
SERVES : 4

TIME : 30 MINS

INGREDIENTS :

  • Sago/sabudana/Pearl tapioca - ¼ kg washed  
  • Mustard seeds                   - 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds                      - 1 tsp
  • Urud dal                            - 1 tsp
  • Channa dal                        - 1 tsp
  • Roasted groundnuts          - 1 fistful
  • Curry leaves                      - handful
  • Grated ginger                    - 1/2 tbsp
  • Green chili                        - 1 finely chopped
  • Lemon                              - ½
  • Hing / asafoetida              - 1 small spoon
  • Salt                                   - as needed
  • Oil                                    - as needed for tempering



METHOD :
  1. Soak sago in water for 3 to 4 hours, until it becomes big. Drain excess water.
  2. In a kadai, temper mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urud dal and channa dal in oil.
  3. Add ginger, chili and curry leaves.
  4. Now add the sago and stir it evenly.
  5. Add roasted peanuts, salt and give a quick stir.
  6. Squeeze the lemon juice over it and serve hot.
Yummy sago khichdi is ready to munch on as breakfast, evening snacks or dinner!!! 😋😋😋
