Hey guys!! After a long long time, am back to blogging!! 😁 So... am back from Japan and of course i do have a lot of products to review!! 💃💃💃 And today, i am gonna brief about the Japanese Cosmetics market!! 😮 😀
Now now.. Japan's cosmetic market is very famous for it's amazing skin care products, just like Korea. Well who doesn't know this?? Considering the wide range of face masks and other skin care stuff available in the market!! I did an extensive market study about the cosmetic brands there which eventually led me to knowing people's needs and mindset there.
People there are of course obsessed with Makeup.... clear, soft skin in particular!! They believe in and crave to have "MOCHI HADA" which means, "Soft, clear, supple and plump hydrated skin", which looks just like a perfect Japanese dessert!!!! So obviously, there were a huge lot of products and brands that promised perfect, plump skin to customers!!
They believe in having the perfect, hydrated skin and donning the "NO MAKEUP" make up look on everyday basis. True to the above statement, i noticed that all the Japanese brands majorly concentrated on day-to-day nude shades when it comes to lipsticks, gloss, eye shadows and blush; and foundations that has medium coverage and light to use daily.
Nope!! They don't really believe in contouring and highlighting, as that would mean "Layers of Make up"!!! 😷 I couldn't really find any Japanese contouring products. Their lipsticks were mostly sheer(which am not a fan of!!) and on top of it, when it came to shades, i couldn't easily find foundations, concealers or lipsticks that could suit me. Yeah... that's because their complexion is different and i don't belong to that range. 😓😓
Beyond all the above mentioned, i managed to find the shades of my liking, that would suit me. Apart from that, they have wonderful waterproof mascaras like the Heroine mascaras which are best sellers, and tattoo brow liquids and eyeliners!!! Exciting.. right??!!!! 😀😀😀 Their lip and cheek tints were also worth trying!! 😇
And people there, swear by proper skin care routine and don't live without a sunscreen!! Learning about their ideas when it comes to skin care and the products they swear by, led me to realize "How important it is to keep our skin hydrated" and that i wasn't really doing it properly till date!!! 😱Well that was a harsh reality !! 😰
So.. A proper hydrated skin prevents all major skin problems like wrinkles, sagging, dullness, acne, etc. Even the Japanese food habits direct them towards a healthy looking skin!! Like the Green tea, sea weed, sea food, etc. And that's their secret behind looking fit and healthy all through their life!! 😎 😍
The Japanese skin care regimen roughly goes like this:
* Double cleansing :
1. Oil based cleanser : Cleansing your face with an oil based cleanser makes sure that the skin is cleaned off the make up and dirt to the maximum!!
2. Foam based or normal light cleansers : And a second cleansing with a light cleanser just adds up to the cleaning. Directly using only a mild cleanser won't ensure proper removal of gunk, that's what they believe.
* Scrub :
They believe in soft exfoliation, unlike the normal scrubs that are gritty and might seem rough on skin when massaged. Here, the exfoliators are in the form of gel, which when applied and massaged on skin, forms tiny ball like beads which gently and effectively scrubs the dead skin cells off the skin.

* Skin Lotion :
In actual, toners are called as skin lotion in Japan. But unlike normal astringents/toners, the lotions are not wiped off the face!! Instead, they are applied to rest on your skin. The lotions are the ones that are gonna attract and lock all the moisture onto your skin. This results in a hydrated, plump skin which in turn soothes and avoids skin problems. The lotions are even used to soak the face mask in and use on the face as a skin treatment.
I went on to purchase the most raved about, holy grail product : Hadalabo Gokujyun hyaluronic acid lotion. (To be Reviewed soon)
* Serum :
These are liquids as usual, to provide an extra boost to the skin in the form of vitamins, etc. Or to treat specific conditions like dark spots, dark circles, dullness, etc.
* Moisturizer :
A moisturizer on top of all the above, finally helps to seal all the products and hydration. Japanese moisturizers are available in the form of oils, milks and creams.
* Sunscreen :
The skin care routine is not complete without a sun screen!! Literally everyone swears by wearing a sunscreen everyday!!! The sunscreens there are majorly gel based and that's the fact that i loved the most!!!!

* Facial Sheet Masks :
When it comes to "Perfect skin", Japanese skin care routine goes the extra length!! Face masks are literally available all over the country like the most essential stuff!! There are soo many variants that are suitable for different skin types and for treating various concerns like skin brightening, whitening, hydrating, etc.
Facial masks are such a huge part of their routine that there are brands like Lululun that recommends the client to use it daily!!!
So that's the outline... I did purchase a lot of products which were most popular. 😇 😇 😇 At the same time, am not someone who buys stuff that i know am not really interested in and won't use. For example, i use a mascara but am not obsessed enough to get a new one( even if it's world's No.1) when am already having one and am not a regular user!! 😒 😒 😒
So yeah.. I have made a huge haul of products that i loved to have!! 😁 And from the next post, i would review it all one by one !! 😁 😁 Till then.. Take care!! See ya!! 😊
